Does anyone else find it interesting that since Richard Nixon, with the exception of the Carter and the Clinton years (12 yrs total), we have until this year had Republican, "pro-life" presidents, and a Republican congress, and we still haven't outlawed abortion? For thirty four years, Republicans have promised and not delivered on their promises to end abortion. Mark my words: It will never be done on a federal level until the people of God change their calloused hearts.
Just reading the forums here of people who call themselves conservative Christians, and repeatedly argue that we should not let God have control over the size of their families, or how many "arrows are stuffed into their quivers", is an insight into the idolatry of the Church. Have we made ourselves a God according to our own feelings??

The point is this: We cry about the atrocity of abortion which boils down to ending the life of a human being, for our own selfish reasons, and commit the very same sin (birth control), because we don't trust the Father to do what He has most certainly promised-To provide ALL of our needs. How many times are we admonished to trust Him? I'm not saying it's easy. I've been in situations where we had zero money, but our entire family has never once gone hungry, or not had a roof over our heads, and clothes on our backs! I don't know about your god, but my God will supply all of my needs according to His riches in Christ Jesus. He is truly an awesome God, but many people never realize it, until they are put into the position of having to trust Him.
We are the hypocrites. We need to look hard at our own lives and judge ourselves that we be not judged. Before we expect the heathen to change we have got to change our own ways.
Politically speaking, we will not see abortion end as long as we let this abomination of unbelief continue in our lives.

So next time you are tempted to think about trusting a candidate to bring us out of this mire by some act of federal fiat, think instead, why God, who holds the heart of kings in His hand, is allowing it to continue. The Father chastens those whom He loves. Why is He chastening us? He is not unjust, there is a reason.

I suggest we stop bantering about who is the most pro-life, or how many points NARAL has given to a particular candidate, and instead, take a good hard look at our own lives and see if there be any wicked thing that is displeasing to the Lord, confessing and forsaking our sin, and turn our hearts back to Him. We are currently reaping the curses laid out in Deuteronomy, for those who refused to obey His commandments. Maybe we ought to take a hint.

After we have thoroughly examined ourselves, then we should examine which of the candidates have the best understanding of Constitutional government. If it be Guiliani, (it's not), then vote for him! If it's someone else, then vote for them! Abortion isn't the only issue either. If you are not familiar with the rights and responsibilities, restrictions and standards the constitution gives, then you would be wiser to do everyone a favor and refrain from voting. Knowing that we will be called into account for every thought, word, and action, what choice will you make?
